Becoming independent from the many times unreliable electricity grid is one big advantage. Many (remote) locations in Africa are not connected to an electricity grid at all, making it impossible to bring electricity demanding technologies to schools, hospitals, municipality buildings and homes. And the use of solar energy makes our world more sustainable for future generations, by reducing the use of conventional fuels and reducing the output of climate changing CO2 gas.
